Padel League DIVISION 1 - AUTUMN/SPRING 24/25

Welcome to Tennis England Club’s DIVISION 1 Padel League.

20 player spots available = 10 teams

WEDNESDAYS 7.30pm -9.00pm

Start date: WEDNESDAY 4th SEPTEMBER 2024

End date: WEDNESDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2025 (Rain week WEDNESDAY 10th & 17th FEBRUARY)

NOTE DOWN YOUR NO PLAY DATES! WEDNESDAY 23rd OCTOBER | 30th OCTOBER | 18th DECEMBER | 25th DECEMBER | 1st JANUARY 

We will have 10 pairs competing.

NOTE - Ahead of each week you will receive who your opponent is and also playing time, as some matches may start earlier some weeks, depending on number of entrants.

There will be a Round Robin format with each team playing all other teams twice. 

You can enter with a partner or request a partner. If your partner can’t make an evening then you can sub them for a night with a guest.

You may sub 1 member of the team when required, as long as, at least 1, of the primary team that entered, is in attendance.

Cost for 18 weeks:

Non-members - £216

Members - £108

NEW rules to abide by:

• Each match encounter is best of 3 sets.
• Golden point deuce should be played* receiver decides.
• A tie-break to 7 should be played if a set reaches 6-6.
• If a ball is contested out or on, the point shold be replayed, unless 3 out of the 4 players strongly disagree.
• A player must call the ball out in immediate response to the balls bounce and not later in the rally.
• If the player contacts the ball twice (even in the same swing) it is a double hit and they have lost  the point.
• If the ball hits a player's body or clothing, they have lost the point.
• If a player contacts the ball on your side of the net, they have lost the point (except if the ball is coming from their side).
• If a player touches the net with their bat, body or clothes, they have lost the point.  The post is considered pasrt of the net.

*Unless already agreed by all 4 players

Guidelines (not hard and fast rules)

• A ball is considered IN if it comes out of the glass at a higher or the same angle that it entered the glass.
• The look of the bounce is more important than the sound.
• Automatic promotion/relegation for the teams finishing at the top, and bottom, of the respective leagues.
• Entry into Premier and Division 1 Leagues are to done with a partner.
• Should one of the initial/primary entered team not be available, then the onus is on the team to organise a sub.
• Should both team members be unavailable then ‘Walkovers’ will be granted to your opponents, for that specific evening, as per the fixture list. 
• 3 points will be awarded for a win;
• 0 points will be awarded for a loss;
